VW Type 4 2056cc Big Bore Engine Construction!

VW Type 4 2600cc Big Bore Engine! Stock 2L Rods, 103mm Pistons/Cylinders, 78mm Stoke Crankshaft... Note the one major problem if you want to run the prop off of the pulley end... is the small nose of the crankshaft as you can see, it cannot support a crankshaft hub without some major machining of the crankshaft. It does not matter if you want to run a direct drive prop or a reduction drive setup! The best setup is to install the prop hub or reduction unit on the flywheel end, BTW that is where it should be installed on the Type 4 engine or the Type 1 engine

VW Type 4 2600cc Big Bore Engine! Stock 2L Rods, 103mm Pistons/Cylinders, 78mm Stoke Crankshaft...

VW/Porsche 1.7L-1.8L-2.0L Engine Aluminum Crank Case... This is the same Case for all Engine Sizes! If you see a 2L case for sale... there is nothing special about the case. It's the same case as the 1.7L. If the engine is out of a 914 Porsche... the case should be in excellent shape, grab it! Now if the engine is out of a VW bus that is a different story ... beware it may be beat up from pushing that heavy old bus around! The only difference also with this case... is the engine would have had duel carb set up... not fuel injection like the Porsche 914, the VW 411, and 412 cars.
