VW Type 4 Engine - Pressure Control Valves. The one on the left is the original stock valve and the one in the middle is a new stock CNC billet valve... but the one on the right is a new valve used for increasing the oil pressure! These parts are not made by VW any more! The new part was acquired from Jake Raby at The Type IV Store for $12.95... they took it upon themselves to have some fabricated to meet the industry need... and is a excellent quality and the new valve on the right used for increasing the oil pressure... is used in rebuilds of all of their turnkey Type 4 engines!

VW Type 4 Engine 2l Standard Main Bearings - Stock 2L Bearings were out of production for 18 months due to the world wide recession, so these were a long time in making... now double the price! Acquired from European Motor Works.

VW Type 4 Engine Distributor Drive Pinion Gears Used... They do not make them anymore! I was able to acquire the one on the left from Great Plains Aircraft for $25 and the one on the right I acquired on Ebay for $5. The Type 4 Store sells a single one for $75... there is only one washer used on the Type 4 engine... The Type 1 engine has up to 3 washers!

VW Type 1 - Oil Pumps... 32mm, 30mm and 26mm. The 26mm pump is for a engine with a 3 - rivet flat cam gear. The Type 4 engine has a dished cam gear so it cannot be used! The 32mm pump is for a hi-performance engine with a - full flow oil system where the oil filter and oil cooler is remote to the stock system. To use this pump the oil outlet is plugged and a modified cover is needed.

VW Type 1 - Oil Pumps... 32mm, 30mm and 26mm. The 30mm pump can be used in the stock Type 4 configuration or again can be used in a remote configuration by installing a plug in the outlet and a modified cover used!

This 30mm pump(outlet plugged) is the setup that will be used with the remote oil filter and larger oil cooler and modified cover... the stock system is then eliminated and not needed. This pump should be adequate to handle oil cooling needed for this size of engine!

When the Type 4 engine is used with the redrive on the flywheel end... the stock oil filter and oil cooler is in a bad location and must be eliminated and a remote filter and cooler installed. Block off plates are used to cover the stock oil filter and oil cooler locations. Also the oil pump cover must be replaced by a modified cover that will control the oil pressure and not blow up the oil filter... since the oil filter is installed upstream of the pump!
