701 7V2-6SPM - Wing Spar Doubler Blanks! Modified for the longer wing span(29.50')... doubler is now 820 mm in length and made of 0.040 - 2 required... There were 2 more rivets added to the original 701 Spar Doubler... to each end and top and bottom. The length of the top was increased by 170 mm and the bottom was increased 160 mm!

Modified CH701 Wing With CH750 Wing Parts

Upon reviewing the wing of the new CH750 and observing some of the improvements in the design, it was decided that some of these changes can be incorporated in building the CH701 wing... resulting in a much stronger wing, less time to construct with less parts, a level wing with a much straighter rear trailing edge, and a cleaner... one piece trailing edge. The biggest change is in the Rear Spar Channel. The CH701 has 14 pieces(7 left and 7 right) [7V6-1 and 7V6-2SP] of Rear Spar Channels, while the CH750 has only 4 pieces(2 left and 2 right) [75W4-4 I/B and 75W4-5 O/B] of 0.032 aluminum rear channel. To do this upgrade to the CH701, the rear rib and rear root rib would also have to be modified! Now the CH750 rear rib and rear root rib has a deeper wing at the aft trailing edge... this results in a larger rib flange that ties into the rear spar channel by 11 mm. As a result of this deeper wing at the aft trailing edge, the CH750 wing has a 50 mm longer chord aft of the rear spar channel. Some of the parts that have to upgraded/modified are... rear ribs(7 left and 7 right), the rear root ribs(1 left and 1 right), the flaperon arms(10 needed), rear root doubler(2), the rear upper strut fitting(2).
A new part that is needed, is the rear spar channel doubler 75W4-6(2 needed), that splices the I/B and O/B rear spar channels at rib #4 together. By making this upgrade, and modifications and using 3/4 x 3/4 - 0.125 instead of the 3/4 x 3/4 - 0.093 spar caps as designed, results in a much stronger and straighter wing. The length of the new redesigned rear spar channels, [75W4-4 I/B and 75W4-5 O/B] are 1860mm and 2041mm respectively for the extended wing.
It should be noted here also, that the root nose rib and main nose rib of the CH750 is identical to the CH701...
